Rumpelstiltskin caught her before she launched herself out of bed. ”Sssh… you’re safe here,” he promised. ”She’s gone. She’s not coming back. You’re all right.” He only hoped it could stay that way.Belle turned her head to look at him, “I know…I know I just…remember what happened..” She sighed and leaned into his chest. “I never thought I was getting out of there alive.”
“You did,” he assured her, freezing when she touched him. ”And I won’t let anything happen to you again.” But that included him…. he had to let her go, and soon, or he couldn’t be sure her heart wouldn’t get him to Bae.
“You cannot keep that promise, Rumpelstiltskin.” Belle told him and looked up at him, “You know you can’t.”
“We’ll find a way,” Rumpelstiltskin promised, frowning. Her locks fell about her bare shoulder and noticed her flowers still growing in the farthest side of the bedroom, “You are taking care of them?”
“It’s all I had of you,” he murmured.
A smile graced her lips, “They are looking beautiful.” She told him and lifted her arms so he could pick her up and take her to her flowers.
Rumpelstiltskin lifted her bridal style and carried her to her beloved flowers. “Your doing, I’m sure.”
“No…someone has to care for them even when I am gone. You are what’s keeping them this beautiful.” Belle said keeping her arms around his neck.

Rumpelstiltskin froze. His presence had harmed her…Jolting awake, she nearly tackled into him, before she breathed heavily, “Lashes…where…wher….oh, gods…” Belle sighed and put a hand on her eyes to try and block out the images.

“And you shouldn’t. I’ll only make you suffer. Marry me, and I’ll protect you, but it can never go farther than that. I care too much about you to subject you to the poison in my heart.”Belle didn’t know how she felt about it, but nodded in agreeing that she would think about it. “What if my father rejects?”

Maybe Cora did have a point… but knowing he cared for her was no comfort. Even if she didn’t come back, the last requirement for his curse was the heart of what the caster loved most. He couldn’t risk Belle’s life like that.In her sleep Belle stirred and whimpered, speaking of hot fire and lashes.

“…but you wouldn’t love me.” Belle said as her hand held the back of his neck to keep him close.“Because my love is dangerous,” Hades insisted.
“But…I-I love you..”

Rumpelstiltskin kept a tight hold on her hand. When she was fast asleep, he dared to brush a lock of hair off her face. She was so beautiful when she was at peace….Belle was at peace in his company as she kept her head close to his hand with hers.

Rumpelstiltskin caught her and laid her back on the bed. ”I’ve been keeping my distance for your sake. You stand for life, and I for death… a romance between us can only end in suffering. But I’d worship you as devoutly as any mortal if it would protect you from Zeus.”“…but you wouldn’t love me.” Belle said as her hand held the back of his neck to keep him close.

“Ha, is that…a deal?” Belle sighed her eyes closing.“This one doesn’t come with a price,” he assured her.
“I like that…” Belle sighed as she slipped into a dreamless sleep.
